The first brick of
the factory walls was put down in 1840, and the first process
that the building hosted was a brewery.
In 1925 Nestlé bought the factory and started the production
of unsweetened condensed milk, named VIKING-MILK. The production
of dried milk / milk powder, stated in 1975, and is today the
only process at our factory. We produce three different types
of milk powder containing 28%, 20% of fat and skimmed milk powder.
The factory was a part of Nestlé Norway up to 2001,
when the negotiation with a new owner started. First of November
2001 was the first day of the new company named NORMIK AS.
We are today producing 5000 tons of milkpowder, and has a
consumption of 45 000 000 litres of milk, which is the full
production of milk at 600 average Norwegian farms.
Our factory is authorised as a diary and certified by the
ISO-9001:2000. Normilk is running the production with the
same demands to manufacturing practices and quality as when
it was a part of Nestlé. |
